I didn't find any phrases that could collide if transformed to md5. I'm doing a project now, and I've found out that I can extract some really cool informations from it. So, I'm trying to figure out if I can extract the initial string from it.
You can't, because info is lost in the algorithm. Every hash function has collisions. Think about this: how many different phrases are you write? And, how many md5 hashes can you make? Hashes are LIMITED in number, while phrases are not. Logically, there are collisions of md5 hashes for different phrases.
There are 22 300 745 198 530 623 141 535 718 272 648 361 505 980 416 (16^36) possibilities for md5 hashes. If you put it this way, yes, phrases collide, but, mayby you could get a string, for example if you concentrate only on a specific charset. It's just an idea.
